To make our therapy sessions as effective and meaningful as possible, I recommend keeping in mind these guidelines:
Your therapy time is just for you — a moment to pause, reflect, and focus on your well-being. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of each session:
- Create Your Space - Choose a quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed. Let your loved ones know in advance, silence notifications, and close the door. Think of this as your private time.
- Check Your Setup - Ensure your internet connection, sound, and camera are working properly so we can communicate with ease and comfort.
- Settle In - Treat the session as if you were coming into my office: sit comfortably, have a glass of water nearby, and keep some tissues on hand.
- Arrive Mindfully - Take a few minutes before we begin to set aside daily concerns. After the session, give yourself a little time to process and be with your thoughts.
- Honor Your Feelings - Whatever comes up during the session is valuable. Noticing and sharing your feelings will guide our work together.
